Think of someone you know who has been impacted by breast cancer. I am willing to bet that it didn't take you long to come up with one or even a few people. Tomorrow is the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Washington, D.C. If you have some free time, check out this incredibly inspirational event! I will be "racing" tomorrow with my friend (and my brother's girlfriend) Julie. I put racing in quotes because the focus is not on the run, the focus is on the cause. I am sure we will be taking the course slow as to take the moments we need to take it all in.
Having participated in this event before, I was literally moved to tears by all of the men, women, and children of all ages out supporting the cause- many wearing t-shirts honoring the memory of those lost to this terrible disease.
Tomorrow I will be participating in honor of both of my grandmothers, Julie's mother, and a close family friend; all of whom have fought the battle of breast cancer, and were blessed to have defeated it.
If you cannot attend the event, I encourage you to make a donation to this very worthy cause. The link is below. Thank you!
