Passionately in Love with Passion Fish, Reston Town Center

If you love seafood, like seafood, or are considering maybe liking seafood someday, you absolutely must try Passion Fish in Reston Town Center.  The menu features the best seafood (in my opinion) in the DC area, and changes constantly to reflect the season and availability of premium ingredients.  Whether you order a light sushi roll in the summer or a heavier winter pasta with scallops, the flavors are complex and perfectly balanced.  Come hungry!  The portions sizes do not require that you order a three-course meal to be satisfied- but trust me, you will want to.

In addition to the delicious cuisine, the service here is fantastic.  I have a shellfish allergy and most seafood restaurants would tell me to pick up my epi pen and get the heck out of dodge.  Not here.  The waiter assured me that it would be no problem at all, and noted that he would give the chef notice so that there was no risk of cross-contamination.  Further, my food obsession has lead to a tendency to ask for a waiter's recommendation, and making him/her explain every last thing on the menu.  My endless questioning was greeted with a smile and an enthusiasm to describe each dish.  The waiters are knowledgeable and attentive, but they do not hover.

Passion Fish is not the cheapest place in town...but how cheap do you expect to find seafood of this caliber?  If you want cheap seafood, I suggest you check out Long John Silvers, and a few bottles of Pepto.  Don't go to Passion Fish for just a quick weeknight meal, go for a dinner when you are prepared to linger and to savor your meal.  I highly recommend that you make a reservation, as the wait can be quite long if you don't.  But, if you find yourself wandering in to Passion Fish without a reservation, take advantage of the fun cocktail menu and impressive wine list at the bar while you wait.

Cheers!
